We want our children to be safe at all times. To be free of harm and injury. To keep those visits to the emergency ward to a minimum.
Yet children need to engage with play that pushes the boundaries of their physical or emotional safety. That’s how they build resilience. It’s how they truly learn cause and effect-by experiencing life rather than being told about it.
In this episode I’ll be getting clear on what risky play is. AND why children need the freedom to engage with it. Even if it leaves us rocking in the corner from time to time.
